Windows 10 First Impressions

As someone who has used Windows since its inception and every version I have to say this new OS will resonate well with anyone who has grown through Windows 95 onwards. The familiar start menu is back, the search bar I loved from Windows 7. It is pretty stable on the Surface Pro 2 I’m using at the moment. Gut feel is that people will like the experience as its less confusing and more intuitive, the modern UI apps just blend with other apps.

For enterprises the experience change is less of a problem but the challenge is going to be apps. App compatibility is going to be key … ironically I’m guessing it’s the modern UI apps that will have the compat issues. I’m hoping everything else if it ran on Windows 8 would run on 10 …. The journey begins!!
